CurbOver Tracker — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 July 2026

CurbOver Tracker (“the app”) is a GPS vehicle/fleet tracking client operated by CurbOver (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you have.

1. The service the app connects to

The app is a dedicated client for the CurbOver tracking server at https://tracker.curbover.com, which is operated by CurbOver. All account and tracking data is processed by that server. The app does not send your data to any third‑party advertising or analytics broker.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information — the email/username and password you enter to sign in. These are sent over encrypted HTTPS to the CurbOver server to authenticate you. A session token is stored on your device to keep you signed in.
  • Location information — if you grant location permission, the app can show your device’s current position on the map. Precise (GPS) and approximate location may be used for this purpose while the app is in use. The app does not access your location in the background.
  • Vehicle / device telemetry — positions and events reported by GPS tracking devices linked to your account are displayed in the app. This data resides on the CurbOver server.
  • Push notification token — if notifications are enabled, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token is registered with the server so it can deliver alerts to your device.

3. How we use information

  • To authenticate you and provide the tracking service.
  • To display your location and your tracked devices on a map.
  • To send notifications about tracking events you have enabled.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data and do not share it with third‑party advertisers. Data is shared only with: (a) the CurbOver tracking server you connect to; (b) the map tile provider configured on that server, to render maps; and (c) Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, solely to deliver push notifications to your device.

5. Data retention

Account and tracking data is retained by the CurbOver server for as long as your account remains active, or as required for legitimate business or legal purposes.

6. Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it at any time by emailing gps.tracker@curbover.com from the address associated with your account, or by contacting your CurbOver account administrator. Upon a verified request we will delete your account, your stored notification tokens, and associated personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations. You may also revoke location and notification permissions at any time in your device’s system settings.

7. Security

All communication between the app and the server uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to tracking data requires authentication.

8. Children

The app is intended for business and fleet use and is not directed to children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
