Trip: Spiti 2026 — Kinnaur, Spiti & Tirthan Valley Expedition
Join us for a nine-day Himalayan expedition through Kinnaur, Spiti and the Tirthan Valley, running 26th September – 4th October 2026. Starting and finishing in Panchkula, the convoy covers roughly 1244 km of some of the most spectacular driving country in India.
The route climbs the historic Hindustan–Tibet Road through Narkanda and Kalpa, then pushes deep into Spiti via Shipki La — reopened after sixty years and sitting on the old Silk Route at the India–China border. You will cross Khab Sangam, where the Spiti river meets the Sutlej, and continue on to Tabo, Kaza and Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office.
From Kaza the convoy takes on the toughest leg of the trip — the Chicham bridge, the Moonland valley, Kunzum Pass at 14,931 feet and the Atal Tunnel into Manali, with a real chance of snowfall. The final days drop into the forests of Jibhi and the Tirthan Valley, cross Jalori Pass, and wind down at Chail before the return to Panchkula.
Altitude is gained deliberately and gradually, with a mandatory acclimatisation stop at Narkanda on day two. Every night stay is pre-booked, fuel stops are planned into each leg, and the convoy runs with full support throughout.
