In May 2025, the CurbOver Group set new benchmarks in adventure travel with Zanskar 2.0, a record-breaking expedition that brought together 34 Jimnys and 74 participants for an unforgettable 16-day journey. For the first time, the convoy also had a furry adventurer – Cherry, a Golden Retriever, who added warmth and joy to the expedition.

The journey was as extreme as it was thrilling, taking participants from the scorching 46°C heat of Delhi to the freezing -4°C at Tso Moriri Lake, and from just 700 ft above sea level to the dizzying heights of 19,204 ft at Umling-La, one of the world’s highest motorable passes.

Traversing through Panchkula, Jispa, Shinkula, Gonbo Rangjon, Padum, Penzila Pass, Leh, Rezang La Memorial, Hanle, Umling-La, and Tso Moriri before concluding at Gurgaon, the convoy covered some of the toughest and most scenic routes in the Himalayas. With flawless planning, safety, and teamwork, Zanskar 2.0 stood out as the biggest and best expedition ever organized by the group.

Day 01 :

Panchkula → Jispa

The convoy set off from Panchkula, officially flagging off the Zanskar 2.0 expedition. Driving through winding roads and scenic valleys, the group reached Jispa for the night stay, marking the beginning of the Himalayan adventure.

Day 02 :

Jispa to Shinkula to Gonbo Rangjon

The convoy crossed the challenging Shinkula Pass, navigating rugged terrains and taking in the raw beauty of the Himalayas. By late afternoon, the group arrived at Gonbo Rangjon, often referred to as the Matterhorn of Zanskar, and soaked in the breathtaking views while camping for the night.

Day 03 :

Gonbo Rangjon to Padum

The route opened up into the mesmerizing Zanskar Valley. With wide landscapes, traditional villages, and untouched beauty, the convoy rolled into Padum, the heart of Zanskar.

Day 04 :

Exploring Padum & Penzila Pass

The group explored Padum and then ascended the legendary Penzila Pass, a gateway offering sweeping views of the Drang-Drung Glacier, one of the largest in Ladakh.

Day 05 :

Padum to Leh

A long but scenic drive took the convoy towards Leh, the cultural and spiritual hub of Ladakh. The group rested here, soaking in the blend of monasteries, markets, and mountain vibes.

Day 06 :

Leh to Rezang La Memorial

This day was dedicated to paying tribute at the Rezang La Memorial, honoring the brave soldiers who fought in the 1962 war. It was a deeply emotional and patriotic stop for the participants.

Day 07 :

Leh to Hanle

From Leh, the convoy moved towards Hanle, a remote village famous for its ancient monastery and one of the world’s highest astronomical observatories. The group enjoyed star-studded skies at night.

Day 08 :

Hanle to Umling-La

The expedition reached its high point—literally—by conquering Umling-La at 19,204 ft, one of the world’s highest motorable passes. This was the ultimate test of endurance and the proudest moment of Zanskar 2.0.

Day 09 :

Umling-La to Tso Moriri

From the heights of Umling-La, the convoy descended towards the serene Tso Moriri Lake, shimmering blue amidst snow-clad peaks, where temperatures dropped to -4°C at night.

Day 10 :

Tso Moriri to Jispa

The journey continued back towards Himachal, retracing routes and enjoying the changing landscapes as the convoy reached Jispa once again.

Day 11 :

to 16 – Return Journey to Gurgaon

Over the next few days, the group retraced their path towards the plains, driving through the scenic valleys and winding Himalayan roads, before concluding the 16-day expedition in Gurgaon, celebrating the successful completion of Zanskar 2.0 – the biggest and best CurbOver expedition to date.
